Ethical and alternative staff gifts this Christmas

Christmas cheer that lasts the year with SevenYays countdown calendars

Christmas is the season of goodwill and for reminding the ones that matter just how much you value them. As team morale has likely been a little low over the last 18 months for many UK businesses, this holiday season is the ideal time to show staff just how appreciated they really are.

Despite the workforce being the most important asset in any company, surveys show that many UK employers still invest more in treating clients than rewarding their team members. 57% of companies admit spending up to £150 on a client at Christmas, while 43% spend under £50 per staff gift.

Unsurprisingly, research also shows that what employees really want for Christmas this year is the personal touch – citing this as the most important factor when receiving gifts from their employers. Most also admit to preferring an actual present from their bosses, rather than a financial bonus or gift card.

SevenYays, a UK family run business, has already shaken up the gifting market with their premium advent calendars for birthdays and year-round occasions. And now they’re offering UK employers everything they need to motivate and incentivise their staff this Christmas time.

The personalised gifting service allows companies to create seven-day countdown calendars containing a selection of luxe gift items, such as craft gins, beauty products, sleep masks, socks, books, and tech items

Employers can simply choose six small, high-quality gifts and one larger item (the Seventh Yay) plus a gift card featuring a bespoke message, to give each team member that extra personalised touch.

Or there are a selection of ready-made boxes with individual themes, such as gin, wellbeing, or celebration, for employers to choose from.

SevenYays aims where possible to support independent UK businesses with ethical and sustainable values. The team has taken great care in the development process to make all packaging as planet friendly as possible.

The cardboard is sourced from FSC-approved sustainable sources and is 100% recyclable. The trays within the SevenYays calendars are made from 86% recycled plastic (produced from drinks bottles and other clean plastic waste) and are also 100% recyclable.

SevenYays was created during the first lock down, launched in June 2021 and has since seen a huge demand in personalised gifts for occasions all year round.

With 28 different pre-selected themed boxes and over 400 different premium gifts to choose from – employers will have everything they need to make this Christmas special for every member of staff.

Andrew Staal, Director of SevenYays comments: “The aim of SevenYays has always been to spread joy, especially during the lockdown period which is when we first launched. Right from the start we made it our mission to provide quality, fun, useful, and ethical gifts to our customers, and we’re so pleased to get to work with so many small, independent British businesses along the way.”

“We know teams from every sector across the UK would be beyond happy to receive a SevenYays calendar from their bosses this year. And if anybody deserves a bit of luxury this Christmas, it’s definitely the British workforce!”

About SevenYays

SevenYays is a unique gifting concept created by Andrew and Charlotte Staal from Manchester. After their teenage daughter asked the question, “why don’t we have advent calendars for birthdays?” the family set about creating a prototype, and SevenYays was born.

The countdown calendars, that can be sent for birthdays, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, weddings, anniversaries, holidays or just because, contain six carefully curated smaller gifts and one larger gift – the seventh yay – for recipients to open as they countdown to their big day.

Made consciously with sustainability and support for British independent businesses in mind, it’s the gift that really keeps on giving. www.sevenyays.com
