Record year for online life planning platform

Online life planning platform, Keylu, reports a record year as more people plan for the future.  The company has recently rebranded to ‘Keylu’ in line with exciting new growth plans

Cornwall-based online life planning platform, Keylu is celebrating after marking a record year in new sign-ups, which saw a 319% increase compared to the previous year.

The business, which has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2015, welcomed a series of exciting new partners from the UK and internationally to their roster during the pandemic, which helped aid the growth.

The company is marking this sustained success with a rebrand, having been formerly known as Once I’ve Gone. The rebrand signals a new era for the company, with bold plans to continue their success by evolving their product offering and expanding into the global market.

The company has also made several new strategic appointments to help action their bold growth plans, which was made possible by a series of successful rounds of investment.

Keylu is a secure, online life planning platform which enables users to upload personal, financial, and legal documents as well as personal mementos such as pictures, videos, and final wishes to pave the way for the creation and management of users’ digital legacies.

Ian Dibb founded the company having been inspired to make a positive change following the sudden loss of both his mother and sister in the space of two years. Motivated by the challenges he faced when organising their respective estates – with limited insight into any final wishes – Ian wanted to develop a platform that would remove some of this stress for those who have been recently bereaved.

Ian said: “It’s been an interesting eighteen months and as the world changes, and we look back on the effects, we have seen a shift in how individuals approach life planning, which has influenced the way in which we have developed the platform.

“We want to continue spreading the word about the importance of life planning – not only end-of-life planning.

“We have some big plans in store, and our new name and branding is only the first step. We will be evolving and enhancing our services to further benefit our users. The team at Keylu are very excited for the future.”

Keylu is an amalgamation of the words ‘keep’ referring to the platform’s provision of a safe online environment for our users’ important documents and personal effects and ‘Teylu’ the Cornish word for family, referencing the company’s heritage in Cornwall.

Sarah Wilkinson, Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder of Keylu, added: “We’re delighted to share the news of our rebrand – As our digital worlds become more complex, the ability to keep track of things so they do not get lost or forgotten is becoming more challenging.

“Over the last 6 years we have focused on building a digital platform which supports individuals to regularly capture everything important to them in their daily lives, whilst also removing difficult decisions for their loved ones.

“It’s fantastic to see life planning being more widely regarded, and we’re confident that a Keylu account will be the best way for people to take the first step in preserving their digital legacy.”
