Business leaders’ gruelling 12-hour padel marathon raises vital funds for cancer charities

Two Altrincham-based businessmen have raised over £1,500 for local cancer charities after taking part in a 12-hour padel marathon amid soaring summer temperatures.
Business Immigration and Employment Law Partner Adam Haines from legal firm Aaron & Partners and Bruce Moran of Palatine Talent remained on court for the entire day as they were taken on by challengers from across the business community, with every pound raised going to the Altrincham VS Cancer campaign.
The event took place at Dunham Forest Golf & Country Club, where challengers were asked for a minimum contribution per three-set match, and a £10 penalty was imposed for losing teams.
The day was attended by business leaders and individuals from across the town, and raised £1,500 for Altrincham VS Cancer, a year-round community movement involving dozens of local businesses hosting fundraising events.
Fundraising for the cause now stands at more than £8,700 with the latest challenge helping to give the funds a significant boost.
Adam Haines, said: “Taking part in the 12-hour Padel Charity Challenge was challenging, especially in the heat, which made things even more gruelling. But the overwhelming support from the local business community made it completely worthwhile.
“Bruce and I were humbled by the generosity and energy of everyone who turned up to play, donate, and cheer us on.
“Altrincham VS Cancer is a cause close to our hearts, and we’re proud to have contributed to its incredible work this year – and yes, we even managed to win one or two matches!”
