Hydes launches Hydes Red, the fourth cask ale in its acclaimed Vintage series
Salford-based Hydes Brewery is proud to unveil Hydes Red, the latest addition to its popular Vintage cask ale collection.
Following the success of this year’s earlier releases, XPA, Mild, and IPA, Hydes Red (4.5% ABV) continues to build momentum in the brewery’s six-strong seasonal lineup, available across Hydes pubs throughout July and August.
This ruby-coloured ale stands out with its rich malt profile, crafted using dark Muscovado sugar and a touch of Red X ale malt. The resulting brew delivers malt, caramel, and subtle liquorice notes, offering drinkers a distinctive and authentic flavour experience.
The Vintage series, launched in 2024, celebrates Hydes’ brewing heritage by drawing inspiration from the original Anvil Brand beers. Each limited-edition ale reflects classic styles infused with contemporary appeal, reinforcing Hydes’ commitment to quality and tradition.
Following Hydes Red, the series will continue with Hydes Stingo (6.0% ABV) and conclude the year with Hydes Imperial (5.2% ABV).
To complement this year’s seasonal Vintage lineup, Hydes has introduced striking retro-inspired branding featuring bold pump clips and promotional materials that revive the iconic Anvil Brewery identity. This visual update aims to captivate both long-time ale enthusiasts and new customers alike.

Founded in 1863, Hydes brews in Media City, Salford, and supplies cask ales and craft beers to wholesalers, pub companies, and its own estate of more than 40 pubs across the North West and North Wales.
Hydes Red is available in all Hydes pubs throughout July and August.
