For business travellers, finding the perfect cabin companion for a short haul flight usually means finding a bag large enough to hold a quick change of clothes, a few documents and possibly a laptop – but it also needs to be small, light and durable.   Of course, if you are like me, it also needs to be fashionable!  Luckily, I stumbled upon one that did all the above and more.

The CABINZERO Classic Cabin Backpack 28L proved to be the perfect travel companion on a recent trip, which left me impressed by the quality, functionality and design of this bag.  It doesn’t surprise me to learn that the brand recently also won a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, recognising its exceptional global growth and commercial success. The award, personally approved by His Majesty The King, marks a significant milestone for the SME, which has expanded from a startup into an international name in travel gear.

CABINZERO’s founder and CEO, Neil Varden, launched the brand following personal challenges that reshaped his life—including a cancer diagnosis that led him to leave a corporate career and pursue a more meaningful path.  He explains:

“CABINZERO started as a response to frustration—but it became my way of building something with purpose, after facing some of the hardest challenges life could throw at me,” said Varden. “To now be recognised with the King’s Award is an emotional milestone, and I’m so proud of the team that helped get us here.”

So what stands about about this luggage to make it so distinctive?

First off, it’s the perfect size for hand luggage – compact enough to fit easily into cabin restrictions but surprisingly roomy inside. I was able to pack everything I needed for a three-day city break with ease – clothes, toiletries, tech and even a spare pair of shoes.  It sounds like such a simple requirement for a carry-on, and yet so many don’t have adequate room.  Doing ‘what it says on the tin’ is the most basic requirement for hand luggage.

However, there’s more to this brand than JUST space and the build quality is outstanding. The material feels tough and durable yet lightweight, and the zips are smooth and sturdy. I particularly love the minimalist design – sleek, smart and attractive.  This handy range is one perfect for every occasion, whether you’re heading on a short flight for a meeting or a weekend getaway, and if you are on a longer trip, it’s still great hand luggage, allowing you to keep all your essentials to hand.

While doing ‘what it says on the tin’ matters, it’s also important to be a desirable product in it’s own right, and again the CABINZERO design is truly eye-catching and distinctive.

This bright, attractive green colour held lots of appeal for me – while this bag comes in a large range of colours, including the obligatory black, as a businesswoman I want to carry a bag that I’d choose for myself rather than one that looks like I’ve borrowed a bag from my other half (and hands-up – I’ve done that on more than one occasion!).  This classy green colour with peachy pink clasps is feminine enough to be stylish, professional and distinctive without being overly girly, so it was an easy choice.

Comfort-wise, it’s incredibly well thought out. The padded shoulder straps and back panel make it super comfortable to carry, even when full, and the top and side handles are really handy when grabbing it out of overhead storage or off a luggage rack.  That said, it fitted easily under the seat in front, and it was nice to keep everything handy.

Another bonus is the built-in global luggage tracker tag from Okoban – such a clever feature for peace of mind when travelling.

At £55,this award winning brand offers great value for a stylish, high quality carry-on that looks good, performs well, and will clearly last for years. I’ve used more expensive brands that didn’t hold up as well as this one and it’s easy to see why this product is so successful.

If you’re a regular traveller, commuter, or just want a reliable and stylish bag for everyday use, I can’t recommend the CABINZERO 28L enough. It’s now my go-to travel bag – and probably will be for a long time to come.
