Breaking into the press can feel impossible for business owners and creatives but YOMU is here to change that. Founded by experienced publicist Natalie Trice, this digital magazine is a fresh platform for bold voices, expert insights and untold stories in today’s ever-evolving media landscape.

At a time when social media algorithms shift overnight and traditional outlets are closing, YOMU offers an independent space for storytelling and sharing expertise. The name, which means “to read” in Japanese, reflects Natalie’s career beginnings in Tokyo and her mission to open new doors for those who feel shut out of the press.

“Ahead of his book launch, I listened to Simon Squibb’s podcast with Richard Branson and one line struck me – ‘Identify a problem that causes you pain’,” says Natalie. “For me, that problem is the belief that only household names deserve press coverage. Incredible stories are everywhere yet too many people feel too intimidated to share them. YOMU is here to change that.”

Natalie is not just another media insider. She has nearly 30 years of experience securing press coverage for everyone from Cartoon Network and Discovery Channel to the Powerpuff Girls, James Cameron, and Betty Crocker. Beyond big brand campaigns, she has led a global awareness campaign for hip dysplasia, turning personal advocacy into worldwide impact.

“The press is powerful,” she explains. “I have seen how the right coverage in the right place can transform lives, businesses and public understanding. YOMU is about using that power to amplify untold stories and uncover hidden talent.”

But YOMU is not just another media outlet.

“This isn’t a free-for-all or a second-class option for exposure,” Natalie explains. “It’s an ambitious project about sharing expertise, celebrating success and creating lasting impact. Fame isn’t about vanity; it’s about the opportunity to reach more people for the right reasons. Helping people confidently share their stories to make a lasting impact, and a living, is at the heart of all I do and YOMU is the next step in that process.”

With events and appearances lined up in Devon, Belfast, Birmingham and California, Natalie is bringing YOMU’s mission to life in 2025 and is seeking contributors and collaborations along the way.

“YOMU, and all of my work, is about helping people step into the spotlight and be part of bigger conversations,” she concludes. “I invite founders, creatives and entrepreneurs to stop waiting in the wings for permission to share their stories. This is your chance to shine.”
