BPMA Celebrates 60th Anniversary at Merchandise World

National trade body for the promotional products industry, the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA), marked its 60th anniversary in style at last week’s prestigious trade event, Merchandise World, held at Coventry Building Society (CBS) Arena.
As part of the milestone celebration, the BPMA, hosted a remarkable exhibit, showcasing six decades of promotional merchandise from the association’s founding in 1965 to the present day.
The exhibit was a story told through merchandise and featured iconic branded products from well known household names such as McDonalds, Pepsi, Carling Black Label and more recently, Beavertown Brewery.
Designed to not only evoke nostalgia from viewers but also highlight the industry’s evolution, attendees were taken on a journey through time, observing how promotional merchandise has evolved from simple items, to practical, cutting edge and eco-friendly products, designed to meet the evolving demand for sustainability.
Phil Goodman, CEO of the BPMA commented on the success of the event:
“This year’s Merchandise World event was a particularly special one for us, celebrating 60 years of supporting and representing the merchandising industry. Our exhibit demonstrated just how far the industry has come, not only through creativity and innovation, but also adapting to an industry where sustainability and practical use is an increasing priority.
“It was wonderful to share our 60-year story with members and exhibitors at the event, to celebrate the pivotal role promotional merchandise plays in building brand awareness.”
