A Birmingham former international beauty queen is now coaching wannabe pageant contestants to follow in her footsteps.

Raven Dixon-Biggs, 30, of Bearwood, a former Miss Birmingham, is at the helm of Raven’s Angels and has been shortlisted for an award recognising outstanding mentorship before her first year in business is up.

As part of her work she also supports individuals and teams to unleash confidence and empower people to succeed in their life and career.

She said: “In less than 12 months of operating I have successfully supported over 30 clients and businesses with achieving dreams.

“I have also volunteered for major charities and organisations to raise awareness and bring change.”

Mum-of-one Raven has also run racial inclusivity workshops to highlight the pitfalls of racism in the cut-throat modelling and media industry.

Now, she’s joining other finalists at Birmingham’s Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel this Saturday in the star-studded Multicultural Business and Community Champion Awards, after being shortlisted by judges including Good Morning Britain’s Marverine Cole and Paul Brunson from Married at First Sight.

MBCC Awards founder Zoe Bennett BEM said: “This is for someone who has a willingness to share skills, knowledge, and expertise in a chosen field. Someone who is willing to teach what he or she knows and really helps the mentee wherever they are in their professional development. Somebody who remembers what it was like just starting out in their careers and is passionate about developing the next generation of professionals in the region.

“We are thrilled for Raven becoming a finalist and would like to offer our warm congratulations on her deserved achievement.”
