Coastal Connections: Flexible Space Association Celebrates Successful Brighton Workspace Tour

Citibase-2

Members of the Flexible Space Association enjoyed a day of sea, sand, and bringing together numerous flexible workspace industry professionals to celebrate the success of the local industry on Thursday 20 June.

Discussion focussed on Brighton’s flexible space industry, and how it has benefitted the city’s professional environment, as the local council has celebrated the fact that ‘Brighton & Hove has one of the largest populations of freelancers, micro-businesses, and business start-ups in the country’ (1)

Brighton has seen demand for additional workspace requirements increasing since 2007. In a ten-year study published by Brighton & Hove City Council, it was predicted that a total of 1.3 million square feet was required to accommodate the growth associated with the creative industries up until 2017 (2).  This demand has only continued to grow, helping to foster an extensive creative network of businesses in Brighton.

FlexSA’s workspace tour allowed attendees to celebrate the ever-increasing demand for flexible workspace and the response of the local flexible workspace industry rising to the challenge. Workspaces toured included:

·         Runway East Brighton

·         Citibase Brighton

·         JetSpace – Grand Parade

·         Platf9rm

·         The Werks Group – Pier Werks

Jane Sartin, Executive Director at FlexSA, stated, “This was an exciting opportunity to explore the vibrant and innovative flexible workspace offerings in Brighton. We hoped that this event would provide invaluable insights into the city’s dynamic workspace sector and highlight Brighton as a premier destination for businesses.”

“Brighton’s vibrant flexible office locations reflect our city’s culture of innovation and collaboration. Today’s event gives us an opportunity to share ideas and serve the local business community even better,” added Daryl Willcox, founder of JetSpace. “The flexible space industry is defined by a strong culture of community and it’s great to see FlexSA coming to the city and engaging with operators here.”

Events like this help build on the foundations of FlexSA’s promise to promote and support the UK’s flexible workspace industry. With a focus on fostering community, knowledge exchange, and professional development, these gatherings play a crucial role in driving innovation and growth within the sector.
