Sport mouthguard company SAFEJAWZ has made the prestigious FEBE Growth 100 2024 list

Safe Jawz Founders-1

Aldridge-based sports mouthguard company SAFEJAWZ has made the prestigious line-up of Britain’s fastest-growing, founder-led private companies, ranking an impressive 16th in the FEBE (For Entrepreneurs, By Entrepreneurs) Growth 100 2024. The list recognises the UK’s top 100 fastest-growing founder-led companies, celebrating the true spirit of entrepreneurialism.

SAFEJAWZ was founded in 2014 by rugby player Ewan Jones and boxer George Dyer, who met while studying at Manchester University and began selling team wear and clearance sports products to their fellow students as a way to make some extra cash. SAFEJAWZ was born after they graduated, formed in the spare bedroom of their terraced student house where they remained post-studying.

Since then, SAFEJAWZ has gone on to protect over a million athletes around the world, from grassroots level up to world champions, including the likes of England rugby star Joe Marler, UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards and YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI.

The recognition adds to a string of growth milestones for SAFEJAWZ, who celebrated selling their one millionth mouthguard last year and were recently recognised with a King’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category. The award was especially meaningful as they received a grant during their early years from the Prince’s Trust.

Other highlights include setting a world record last year for the world’s most expensive mouthguard – created for and worn by KSI. And just last week, Ewan and George realised a childhood dream of working with Marvel, launching a new product range featuring specially designed superhero mouthguards inspired by the likes of Spiderman, Captain America, Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk.

John Maffioli, FEBE co-founder, said: “This list reveals the fastest growing founder-led companies in the UK. The FEBE Growth 100 is where you’ll find some of the country’s most talented entrepreneurs and most exciting companies.”

Commenting on today’s announcement, Ewan Jones, co-founder of SAFEJAWZ, said: “We are thrilled to have made the prestigious FEBE Growth 100 2024 list. It’s an honour to be recognised among the UK’s leading entrepreneurs and companies, acting as a true marker of how far we’ve come from the spare room to our current West Midlands HQ, distributing to more than 32 countries around the world.”

George Dyer, co-founder of SAFEJAWZ, added: “The recognition makes the hard work and dedication to building SAFEJAWZ into the business it is today truly worth it. We are excited for the continued growth to come, providing more and more athletes at all levels with access to innovative, stylish and comfortable mouthguards.”
