Brent Council & Property Advice Service offer free commercial property advice

Brent Council and Property Advice Service offer free commercial property advice for local business owners and tenants.

Brent Council and Property Advice Service are collaborating to offer a free advice webinar for business premises on Tuesday 16 April from 10am to 12pm. Designed for the borough’s shops, shopkeepers, company owners, and property managers, the webinar comprises two presentations followed by an opportunity to ask the experts questions.

People can sign up to the Property Advice Service and the webinar here.

Experts will provide current guidance on business rates, and rates relief for a wide range of commercial premises, including theatres, gyms, cafes, pubs, private schools, co-working spaces, medical centres, houses of worship, shops, and funeral directors.

The webinar is appropriate for shop owners, tenants, and property managers who struggle with paying rates, and understanding business rates, or who want to learn more.

Deryck Sealy, co-founder and director of London Business Partnership which is delivering the Property Advice Service, said: “We recognise the challenges faced by local SMEs when it comes to Business Rates. As they make up the economic backbone of London, we created the Property Advice Service to support them with easy-to-understand advice about complex issues.

“We strongly encourage business owners in Brent who occupy commercial property to use an hour of their day to learn about a topic which can have a huge impact on the success of their business. Our advisors will guide business owners through topics including the different business rate schemes and how to save on business rates. After two presentations, participants can ask the experts questions.”

When people sign up, they will register for the webinar and the broader Property Advice Service so they have access to other free events and information. The Service is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The Property Advice Service is delivered with partners international property consultants Gerald Eve, and the University of Law.
