London-based fitness technology platform Sadhana Live has announced a new partnership with Yoga Care, a company founded by Ulises Calatayud, which operates yoga and wellbeing studios in New York and Mexico City. Calatayud is a prominent figure in global yoga who served as a former President of the International Yoga Sports Federation.

The new venture is expected to grow Sadhana Live’s online yoga and wellbeing community by more than 50,000 subscribers and provide further access to the Mexican, Latin American and Spanish market with classes and materials delivered in Spanish as well as English to its global subscription base.

Sadhana Live, which brings together yoga, wellbeing and a thriving community feel, operates on a subscription base model. Sadhana Live’s network of instructors are amongst the most highly regarded and qualified in the global yoga community. They include three time European and twice International Yoga Sport Champion, Almania Colombo; UK Yoga Champion, Michael Eley; and former TV Gladiator James Crossley.

The new Yoga Care partnership comes as Sadhana Live has launched its first fund raise which has now attracted over £169,000 investment towards its £250,000 target. The investment funds will be used to enhance the Sadhana platform, expand its team, and further grow its global subscription base.

The global online/virtual fitness market size was valued at $6bn in 2019, and is forecast to exceed $59bn by 2027, growing at a projected compound annual growth rate of more than 33% from 2020 to 2027.

To further promote its quality teaching offering to new subscribers and increase world-wide accessibility to yoga, Sadhana Live will be streaming all of its live classes for free from September to December 2021.

The company has also successfully completed The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK programme. Run in partnership with the Said Business School at Oxford University and the Aston Centre for Growth at Aston University, the programme is designed to provide high-quality, practical education and business support to leaders of high-growth small businesses and social enterprises across the country.

Gerry Lopez, Sadhana’s founder and CEO, said: “We’re very excited about our new joint venture with Yoga Care, a highly respected health and wellbeing provider which shares our core values. The partnership will leverage Yoga Care’s global audience base and its high quality yoga instruction through Sadhana Live’s innovative technology platform. This will significantly increase our international reach, especially across North America, Latin America and other Spanish speaking markets.

“The fund raise will also help drive forward our global growth ambitions with investment supporting team expansion, international marketing and the next phase of our technology-based communication platform. This will enable the Sadhana Live Tribe to easily interact and share insights, recommendations and experiences across our growing global community.”
